Toy tractors owned by a late Shropshire farmer, have sold for up to £200 at Shrewsbury Auction Mart.

The sale which followed the annual Christmas poultry sale conducted by auctioneers Halls, comprised an entry of toy tractors and an assortment of tractor manuals and instruction books owned by the late Alf Smith of Eaton Constantine, near Shrewsbury.

Top price went to a boxed Britains Golden Anniversary Ferguson TE20 tractor, while an Ertl Ford 4000 tractor and a selection of implements sold for £150.

A Farmall Model Tractor made £70, an Ertl Case International 1963 David Brown 990 Implematic tractor sold for £60 and a Britains Massey Ferguson 3680 tractor made £52.

In October, Halls sold Mr Smith's three vintage tractors at a Shrewsbury plant and machinery sale, including a Fordson Power Major 2WD with a Cookes timber winch and cable that made £7,200.

The sale of the toy tractors, collectables and memorabilia was very well supported by the local farming community and on the MartEye platform. The model toys averaged £30 with the highlight being the Ferguson TE20.

Last month, the world's largest private collection of Massey Ferguson models, tinplate toys and memorabilia saw record prices at auction, with one item selling for more £35,000.

At the end of November at Cheffins Machinery sale ground, Ely, more than 800 pieces of Ferguson memorabilia as part of the Jim Russell Sale.

The collection was put together over a 50-year period by farmer and Massey Ferguson enthusiast, Jim Russell.

As one of the largest and most comprehensive Massey Ferguson collections, the auction exceeded expectations, with sales throughout Europe, Canada and Australia.

It included the final signature written by Harry Ferguson, dated April 6, 1954, prior to his resignation as honorary chairman at Massey-Harris-Ferguson Engineering Ltd which sold for £3248.

Other highlights included a 1936 Ferguson type-A tractor, which made £35,736.
