Rhys Millichap's extremely selective Rhymil Blue Beauties sale at Welshpool, attracted a lead price of 6500gns with only five of the catalogued entry of eight British Blues finding new homes.

Sale leader was the six-month-old ET heifer calf, Rhymil Madonna which sold with her three-yaer-old Aberdeen Angus cross recipient dam. Backed by the best of genetics, Madonna is bred from the Gitan Du PtiT Mayeur-sired Rhymil Highness which is a full sister to the show winning Rhymil Kylie. Highness and Kylie are also maternal sisters to Rhymil Heidi, the inter-breeed cow and calf champion at this year's Three Counties Show and female and reserve overall at the National Show in 2014. Madonna, a blue and white calf, is sired by Bringlee Blackstar ET and sold to Henry Jewitt, Gracies Farm, Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle.

Selling down to Yorkshire with RC Burniston, Fiddlers Green, Harwith, Harrogate, was Rhymil Limited Edition ET, a 20-month-old heifer that stood junior female champion at the Royal Welsh. A maternal sister to Rhymil Jagerbomb, which made 12,000gns at Carlisle in 2016, she is bred from the Baron Du Bois Bauloye daughter, Paulern Audrey and sired by Wilodge Ulex.

Two sold for 3000gns to include Rhymil Imogen ET, a four-year-old by Cromwell Fendt out of Lakeview Dancer. Maternal sister to Rhymil Kylie, she sold served to the Limousin bull, Whiskey Judge, to LP Jenkinson and Son, Alscott Farm, Beaworthy, Devon.

A Wagyu cross British Blue recipient carrying a full ET sibling to Rhymil Kylie, also made 3000gns to S and S Hough, Park Grange Farm, Pontefract, West Yorkshire. It is due next summer.

An even smaller collective sale of Blues saw a top price of 4500gns for WR and WW Jones' Tanat Legend ET, a rising two-year-old bull from Henfache, Oswestry, sell to MJ Dyke and Sons, Gwernfach, Llandrindod Wells, Powys. He is by Phenomene de Martinpre.
