ONLY a small entry of other pedigree beef bulls was forward for Harrison and Hetherington's rescheduled Early Spring sale, at Carlisle, where prices peaked at 4000gns for a Maine Anjou.
The August 2016-born bull, from Clive Houldey, Kirtleton, Waterbeck, Lockerbie, was purchased by JE and B Goddard, Frankstown, Longtown, Carlisle.
Blondes sold to 3000gns on two occasions. First was AJ Stott's Hilltop Manup, from Longrow Cottage, Canonbie, Dumfriesshire, was purchased by John Pridgeon, River Farm, Louth.
Minutes later, Ian Woodhead, Piper Hill, Felixkirk, Thirsk, bought the second, Hallfield Mario, from P Weightman and Sons, Hallfield, Peterlee, Co Durham.
The sold Hereford sold, Messrs Hewson's Amberfield 1 Navigator, from Parton Farm, Wigton, made 2600gns to DR and HM Horsley, Woodhouse, Catterlen, Penrith.
