Thurso Thistle, a March 2022-born Charolais bull bred by Aberdeenshire breeder, David Mackenzie, Culsalmond, has been sold privately for £15,000 to Major David Walters of the Balthayock herd from Perth.
Backed by home-bred genetics on both sides, this easy calving bull is sired by the Maerdy Gouverneur son, Thurso Paul, of which a half share sold for £10,000 to the Milne family for their Elgin herd, Kenneshillock, with the remainder retained. The dam, Thurso Nesta is a daughter of Maerdy Ignition.
