Lancashire Holstein young breeder, Rosie Dennison, has triumphed to win gold at the Open Junior Show at Cremona, Italy, with her fellow team members also excelling.

Senior competitors James Doherty (Shropshire) and William Booth (Lancashire) were joined by junior competitors Jodie Nutsford (Western) and Rosie Dennison (Lancashire) to represent Holstein Young Breeders (HYB) in the prestigious cattle show in Italy.

The event, which starting on Thursday, October 25, saw competitors participated in the clipping classes, followed by stock judging where they were presented reasons in front of all other competitors.

The Friday saw the heifer and showmanship classes before returning home on the Saturday with results to be very proud of!

In the senior showmanship competition, James was placed ninth and Will came 17th. For the junior team, Rosie hit the top spot claiming first place and Jodie was placed 11th.

Judge Thomas Ender from Switzerland described Rosie as an ‘easy winner’ for her flawless performance, being smooth on the halter, professional throughout and leading her cow to exceptional leg placement. In the clipping competitions Rosie was placed fifth and Jodie 12th and for the seniors, Will excelled with third position, closely followed by James in a credible fifth.
