A MASSIVE traditional Bluefaced Leicester two-shear ram went straight to the top to win the supreme sheep and overall champion of champions at Peebles Show.
Show stopper was Alan McClymont and sons, Sam and Oliver's two-shear Mendick-bred ram from Kirkstead, Yarrow, that stood breed champion and reserve overall sheep at the Highland.
Overall champion of champions judge, Robin Bell, Kelso, found his reserve in the lead light legged horse, Masquerade, a 10-year-old Irish-bred coloured gelding ridden by Clive Storey, Halterborw Head, Yetholm.
Also forward for the supreme overall was the inter-breed cattle champion, Team Kasey H3, a 16-month-old Simmental heifer, from James McKay Wightman, Coxhill, which stood in front of the Highland cattle leader, Capleadh Proiseag 3 of Broomrigg, a seven-year-old cow from Stephen and Rosemary Hunter, Barnhill.
Highland cattle were again to the fore in the inter-breed pairs, with the champion from the Hunters and the reserve, a two-year-old heifer from Caroline Cuthbertson, teaming up to win the supreme, over a British Blue duo.
Back amongst the sheep and Mr Bell, found his runner-up in the lead Texel, a two-crop ewe from Robert Laird's Cambwell flock from Biggar, which only last month scooped the overall champion of champions at his local show.
