Family-owned maltster – Berwick-based Simpsons Malt – has recognised the hard-work and dedication of 14 team members, who between them have given 325 years of service to the family-run business.

Now in its fifth generation of family ownership, the staff being recognised at the family-owned firm were thanked by Simpson Malt board member, David McCreath, at a dinner marking the special occasion. Vice-chairman, Richard Simpson, was part of the ‘thank yous’ having been in the business for 20 years since starting as a harvest grain sampler in 1998.

Celebrating retirement this year, following 40 years’ service, quality manager Chris Trumpess started at Simpsons as lab technician while Alison Inglis, Mark Eden, Malcolm Rodgerson, Mark Mitchell, Brian Williams, Michael McAskill and Steven Wiles had each worked for 30 years, with Noel Rosedale, Neil Fleming, Pat Richards and John Coull, recognised for 15 years.
