RECORDS were set at Bentham Auction's show and sale of store cattle when a Limousin cross surpassed the previous £2120 record held for eight years when she was knocked down for £2200.
That was the champion, a senior heifer from J and I Whitaker, Bowsber Clapham, which sold to Shiela Mason, of Keasden, North Yorkshire. The Whitaker family sold 21 heifers to level at £1497, aided by two at £2100 each and a further two at £2000 apiece.
The reserve champion, a junior British Blue bullock from David Broadbent, Halifax, sold to G Rhodes, Freckleton, for £1150.
