A SMALL show of Salers bulls forward at Stirling Bull Sales on Monday, saw the five sold cash in at £2340, with a top price of 3600gns paid on two occasions.
First at that price was Rigel Lymond from Rigel Pedigree, Leven Fields, Middleton on Leven, Yarm. This July 2016-born son of the Sagitaire-sired, Rigel Officer, is bred from a Rigel Byron daughter, Rigel Malibu. He sold JI and WN Stout, Whitehall, Stronsay, Orkney.
The other at 3600gns was the next bull through the ring from Niall and Katy Blair's Cammock herd based at Easter Cammock, Glen Isla, Blairgowrie. Cammock Leocadie, an August 2016-born bull by the Seawell Daimler-sired Beeston Hall Finn, is out of the Cleuchhead Zoro-sired dam, Beeston Hall Hattie. Buyer here was Kilnstown Farms, Kilnstown, Bewcastle, Cumbria.
Just one British Blonde bull sold through the sale ring for 2300gns. This was Ramrig Nonu from G and A Hamilton, Ramrig, Duns, a February 2017-born by Ramrig Jumping Jack Flash, out of the Hallfield Destiny-sired, Ramrig Hawaii. He sold to Northern Ireland with Messrs Armstrong.
