DINGWALL and Highland Marts' sold a total of 35 goats, 1099 sheep and 492 lots of poultry, eggs and poultry equipment at its sale of rare and traditional breeds of livestock at Dingwall mart, last weekend.

Topping the trade at £1400 was an entry from the sheep section, a Valais Blacknose gimmer from Scroggie Farm, Dingwall. The same home also received £1300 for a Valais Blacknose lamb.

The 35 goats peaked at £320 for a pygmy male from Burnside of Tillykeira, Lonmay, while an entry of 492 poultry birds reached £350 for a pair of Rhea from Kirtledean Cottages, Kirtlebridge.
