Pedigree bulls sold to 4600gns at the Orkney Bull Breeders Association sale at Orkney mart, but only 11 of the 19 bulls forward found new homes, giving a clearance rate of 58%.
The sale topper was the reserve Charolais champion, Dounby Marshall from Messrs Spence, Norton, Dounby. It was bought by F and T Moar, Withaquoy, Holm.
Top priced Limousin was Norseman Black Martial from JC Rendall, Rowland, Holm, which sold for 4000gns to Messrs Ritch, Vetquoy, Sandwick.
Nearhouse Legend, the Shorthorn champion, from JM Lennie and Co, Nearhouse, Tankerness, made 3000gns to a buyer from the south.
Lagas Nutcracker from Laga Farms, Arwick, Evie, was Limousin champion and sold for 3000gns to judge, Brian Ridland, Aikerness, Evie.
He also paid 2500gns for Charolais bull, Spengar Noah, from LG Spence, Spengar, Sandwick.
