The reserve champion led the way at Caledonian Marts' show and sale of 209 beef breeding cattle, selling for the top price of £6300.
Selling at this mark was a British Blue heifer with Limousin cross heifer calf at foot from John McAlister, West Thomaston, Banknock, selected by judge Stephanie Dick, Westerton. This outfit sold to Miller Farms, North Lurg, Midmar, Aberdeenshire.
The champion outfit from Craig Malone, Pitcairn, Cardenden, was similarly bred and realised £6000 selling to Messrs Paterson, Cairndaie Croft, Sauchen.
Pitcairn also sold the second top priced lot at £6100 – another heifer and calf outfit – purchased by G Bell, Haasside, Lockerbie.
