Father and Son duo Peter and Peter Swindlehurst, Underbarrow, Kendal topped Bentham Auction sale at £2050 with more dairy cattle on offer, 28 milkers and 5 in-calf cows forward.

Ted and Alex Walton, Preston tapped out their supreme champion to a second-calver cow with just calving ten days ago and is yielding 35l bought by John Livesey, Inskip for the top price of £2050. Another second calved cow from Oliver Greenhalgh, Enchanted Holsteins, Elswick, Preston reached £2000, second top price of the sale to JR Boothman, Lower White Lees Farm, Fence, Burnley.

An unshown newly calved heifer led the way at £2000 from PW and DM Swindlehurst, Underbarrow purchased by JS and KM Wilson and Son, High House Farm, Helsington, Kendal. Messrs R Lawson's third price sold to second top within the newly calved heifers at £1900 to JS and KM Wilson and Son, High House Farm, Helsington, Kendal.

Robin Jennings first prize heifer caught the eye of Gary Atkinson, Bentham who took her home at £1850. The freshly calved heifer calved 19 days ago is producing 35l a day.

PD and PJ Mason, Burton in Kendal took the hat-trick, topping the in-calf sections within the Danish Red, British Friesians and Jersey's. Selling at £1050 to Messrs A Sowray and Sons, Bowes Green, Bishop Thornton, Harrogate, £1020 to JR Boothman, Lower White Lees Farm, Fence, Burnley and £980 to S Woodhouse and Son, Gowrey farm, Kirkby Lonsdale respectively.

Messrs R Sunderland, Aspatria topped the newly calved Ayrshire's at £960 selling to DW Shuttleworth, Home Farm, Gargrave.
