This week's sale of hill Cheviots at Lairg produced a record £18,000 bid for this three-shear ram from the MacCorquodale family's sheep off Torrish Estate. Relatively new breeder, James McCaig, Wester Jawcraig, Falkirk, bought the new record holder with his shepherd, Stephen MacKinnon putting in the final bid. Dennis Henderson was the shepherd in charge ... a big strong sheep and well sold.
