A small but select sale of Hampshire Down rams for the breed's Lads Online sale, staged through Harrison and Hetherington, saw just seven sold.
Top price was £600 paid for a shearling ram from CM Brant and Son, Normanby Lodge, Normanby Le Wold, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. Their Raburn Napier son is out of a Kelsey Hero-sired ewe, and was purchased by Messrs Cheetham, Nr Bothamsall, Retford, Notts.
The best from the Maes-glas pen from E, B and S Jones, Maes Glas, Wolfcastle, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, realised £380. This shearling son of Maes-glas Commander, was bought by Messrs Hurst, Lincomb, Stourport on Severn, Worcs.
