Dumfriesshire breeder, Ben Radley, Loaningfoot, came out tops at a Charollais sheep sale at Carlisle, selling the lead priced lot at 1000gns.
His sale leader, Edstaston Ubercorn, a shearling ram bred by RS and JA Gregory, is by Knockin Shockin, bred from a Edstaston daughter of Rainbow Lindisframe, and sold to Messrs Jenkinson, Clifton, Penrith.
A substitute shearling ram from Jonathan Wales, Thackwood, Raughton Head, Carlisle, proved his worth when he sold next at 950gns to Messrs Leiper and Sons, Morpeth, Newcastle On Tyne. This Netherton Sea The Stars son is a out of a home-bred ewe by Loanhead Ohio.
Jonathan Aiken’s Carnew pen from Wigton, topped the females at 800gns twice. First was a December-born ewe lamb by Edstaston Rockin Robin, out of a home-bred ewe by Castellau Lord Mayor. She sold to Aberdeenshire with Messrs Spence and Pye, Strathdon.
Another by the same sire but out of a home-bred ewe by Wernfawr Prospect, made the same money selling south with Messrs Darnforth, Wighill Lane, Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.
