A small but selective entry forward for the Border Leicester in-lamb sale at Carlisle, saw a strong trade throughout and a 1600gns high.

Ayrshire-based breeders, David and Iain Walker, High Alticane, Pinwherry, Girvan, produced the sale leader, an aged ewe which sold down to Shropshire with RD Livestock, Broomfield, Market Drayton. By Mindrum Mighty and out of a home-bred ewe she sold scanned for triplets to the £1200 Lanark purchase, Intock Boris.

Two similarly aged ewes by Clola Cracker Jack, out of home-bred ewes from the same home made 1000gns. Both sold due to Intock Boris, with the first carrying a pair to young Euan Mill, Cardenden, Fife, whilst the second, carrying triplets, was purchased by M Radford, East Underhurth, Forest in Teesdale, Barnard Castle, Co Durham.

Top price for Sandy and Alec Watson’s Intock flock from Culticheldoch Farm Cottage, Crieff, was 1100gns paid for a gimmer daughter of Didcot Diamond, out of a home-bred dam. She sold carrying a pair of lambs to the £2000 Knockglass Mr Dandy to Stewart Lathangie, Pyeston, Glenrothes, Fife.

Two Intock gimmers by Drennan’s Dazzler made 1000gns each to MJ and AM Mill, Shawsmill, Cardenden. Both sold due to Didcot Diamond.
