Champion at Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart’s show and sale of 300 store cattle, was a Limousin cross heifer from Messrs Hodgson, Woodfoot, which later sold for the top price of £2100.

Reserve honours went to a Limousin cross British Blue heifer from Dawn Bowness, Marton Gill, that realised £1100.

The sale achieved an average of £1121, up £165 per head on the year.
