Heifers realised 274.10p for a 405kg Simmental cross from West Muirhouse, and to £1630 for a 640kg Charolais cross from West Mains, to average 245.76p.

Young bulls (41) averaged 224.36p and sold 268.20p for a Limousin cross from Windsole, and to £1400 for an Aberdeen-Angus cross from Glenkiln.

The firm also sold 1546 store hoggs forward which soared to £105 for Beltex from Philiphaugh.

A Charolais bullock from Ravenslie, secured £1840 at Craig Wilson's sale of 715 store cattle, whilst a Limousin heifer from Fore Rogerton, made £1540.

Limousins from West Brockloch,led both sections among the pence per kg section with bullocks hitting 335.4p and heifers to 316.p.

Bullocks and heifers cashed in at 255.7p and 246.7p respectively.

Also forward were 673 store and breeding sheep, which reached £92 for a Texel ewe from Damien McKerr, Lady Wilson Street, whilst the hogg trade peaked at £87 for Cheviots from Raeside Farms Ltd, Ladeside.

On Tuesday, the firm sold two dairy cattle to a top of £2150 for a fresh calved Holstein Friesian heifer from Messrs Jack Craig and Co, Tannockhill.

Stirks topped at £1150 for a Simmental cross bull from TH Robertson and Son, Auchentibber.

British Blue calves from HF Vance and Co, Low Barledziew, proved popular with bulls and heifers making £510 and £430 respectively.

Bullocks sold to 344.6p for a 354kg Charolais from Burnside of Whitefield, Forglen, and to £2010 for a 668kg Limousin cross from Newmill, Cairness.

Charolais crosses led the bull trade, firstly at 283p for a 424kg boy from Inverlochy, Tomintoul, and to £1445 for a 602kg bull from Skinnet, Halkirk.

Breeding cattle met a high demand reaching £2850 for a Limousin cross cow carrying a fourth calf from G Hay, Mains Of Kildrummy.

On Monday, 1666 store lambs came under the hemmer which soared to £114 for pure Beltex from Tillylodge, Newe, to cash in at £62.92.

Island consigned store lambs averaged £60.70 and sold to £92 for Beltex from Strathore, Balfour.
