A sale of pedigree and unregistered breeding pigs at C and D Auction Marts, Dumfries, sold to £365 for a pair of British Lop gilts, in pig to home-bred boars.
The duo, from Messrs Booth and Son, Broad Oak, Cheshire, sold to Kinross buyers, J and H Buchanan, Hardiston.
Serving gilts were the main feature of the sale and peaked at £200 twice, for pure-bred British Saddlebacks from Earlston.
In the commercial section, boars sold to £225 for a Tamworth and cast sows met good demand selling to £230 and £210.
Baconers reached £200 for Landrace gilts and £195 for Iron Age crosses.
