Judge, John Sunter, West Witton, backed his decision and bought his choice of champion at £1500 at Hawes Auction Marts' show and sale of store cattle.
The champion, a Limousin cross heifer was consigned by Thomas Iveson, Hawes, who also produced the first prize steer, another Limousin that topped the trade at £1520.
