An 651kg Aberdeen Angus cross bullock from High Unthank, realised £1930, whilst another of the same breed weighing 660kg made £1790 for Kininmonth.

Bullocks sold to £1660 for British Blues from Ali Dodd, Tundergarth Mains, whilst heifers made £1400 for Limousins from Messrs Armstrong, Cockermouth.

A very mixed show of store cattle was forward for Caledonian Marts' sale, where bullocks and heifers averaged 287p per kg and 275p respectively.

Limousins from M Campbell, Glenstockadale, Leswalt, led the pence per kg sections with bullocks and heifers reaching 416p and 328p respectively.

Among the per head section a top of £1800 was paid for Limousin bullocks from Lacesston Muir, Cupar, Fife, with the same home topping the heifers at £1690 for Charolais.

Aberdeen Angus crosses secured the top prices at United Auctions' sale of store cattle, with bullocks from D McGregor, Gartacharra, making £1735, whilst heifers from Messrs Archibald, Craigens, secured £1500.

Bullocks also sold to 335p per kg for Charolais crosses from Messrs Macmillan, Ballimartin, to average 308.77p (+13.77p on the year) and heifers attained 360p again for Aberdeen Angus crosses from Messrs Archibald, Craigens, to cash in at 292.29p (+7.04p).
