The Aberdeen Angus bull, Three Peaks Elliot attracted the top price of 2500gns at a native breed show and sale of cattle at Skipton.

The rising two-year-old pedigree bull from Alan and Imelda Smith and their son Neil, Pemberton Farms, Ingleton, is sired by Three Peaks Jezza Eric, and bred from the Blelack Entertainer daughter, Buckhurst Ember. He sold to dairy farmer Richard Shuttleworth, West Marton.

The female section saw the closing dispersal of pedigree Hereford heifers from David and Iris Boothman, Halton Hereford, Halton East, which reached 1550gns.

This was paid for rising two-year-old heifer Halton 1 Isabel, a Houghton View 1 Cameron daughter which sold free of the bull. Final bidder was SJ Dawber, Northowram, Calderdale.

Beef Shorthorn females from D and D Jackson, Summerclose herd, Cartmel Fell, High Newton, sold to 1420gns for Summerclose Tinkerbell. This yearling headed home with S Masterman and R Richards, Laverton.

The reserve champion went to the Hereford female, Welburn 1 Dawn 634 from Steven and Jess Stoney, Carlesmoor, Kirkby Malzeard.

This September 2022-born entry is a daughter of Coley 1 Shotgun and made 850gns when selling to WP and E Dobbing, West Burton, Bishopdale.
