Killiworgie North Star 22, a heterozygous polled bull from Steve and Gill Gummow, Higher Killiworgie, Newquay, secured the top price of 7500gns at a Simmental breed sale at Worcester.

The September 2022-born bull is sired by Curaheen Gunshot (P) and is out of the Killiworgie Emperor daughter, Killiworgie Elderflowers Ivy Ex92. He sold to CM Mercer of the Bowley herd at Bowley Court Farms, Hop-Under-Dinmore, Leominster, Herefordshire.

The same buyers went to 6000gns for Bosahan Nankervis 22 (P) from John and Bridget Olds, Bosahan, Falmouth, Cornwall. This October 2022-born heterozygous polled entry stood first in his class in the pre-sale show, and is a son of Kinclaven Infusion 17 (P) out of Bosahan Isabella Bea Ex 90, a Skerrington Armada daughter.

A similarly aged bull by the same sire and from the same home, Bosahan Nightfall 22 made 5000gns when selling to DW Price, Ackhill Farm, Presteigne, Powys. He is out of another Armada daughter, Bosahan Flirty Tresor Ex90.

The female champion, Midhope Melinda, led the section at 2900gns for WJ Hollingsworth, Midhope Hall Farm, Sheffield. This October 2021-born heifer, scanned in calf to Corskie Nomb, is by Denizes Kingston 19, and is out of the Woodhall Everhart daughter, Midhope Kitty. She sold to S and D Shapland of the Brynsworthy pedigree herd, Brynsworthy, Barnstaple, Devon.

The judge, Wayne Davies, Cwmbromley, Newtown, Powys, purchased his choice of reserve champion, Newton House Majesty for 2800gns from JW Gosmore Partners, Newton House, Tattenhall, Chester. This November 2022-born heifer is a daughter of Lissadell Los Angeles, and bred from Leeherd Majesty 377, a Dermotstown G Mac daughter.

The draft sale of females from the Dinton herd of SV Francis, Homestead, Warminster, reached 2600gns for the five-year-old Dinton Kiwi 11, when selling with her fourth calf at foot, the heifer Dinto Kiwi 16 (P), sired by Amadeus. The cow is a daughter of Coose Gambler (P). This outfit sold to RG Elliott and Son, Noborough Lodge, Norton, Brockhall, Northants.
