A Limousin heifer from MTP and SD Wills, Fawcett Par, secured the championship at Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart LLP’s May show and sale of 475 store cattle, before selling for £1860.

The same home produced the top priced lot, a British Blue heifer that made £2100.

Judge, Thomas Critchley, Mercer Farm, Preston, purchased his choice of reserve at £1600, a Limousin bullock from TH Harrison, Sleddale Hall.

Bullocks peaked at £1935 on two occasions – for a Charolais from J Wilson and Sons, South Field, and a Limousin from PT and J Inman, Lockerbie.
