A record entry of 2490 lots was forward for Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart’s collective sale of machinery, livestock equipment and small tools, which saw a top price of £62,000 for a 22 plate Massey Ferguson 6S.165 tractor and an 84% clearance.
The sale, which commenced at 9am and concluded at 7.45pm, saw no fewer than 35 items sell for more than £10,000 of which eight sold in excess of £30,000.
Plant machinery was one of the easiest to sell, with the section peaking at £50,000 for a Komatsu D61PX dozer.
Farm machinery reached a high of £13,000 for a Richard Western SF12LX silage trailer.
