West Shawtonhill top Lanark show and sale of stores at £3750

The 396kg heifer was selected champion by judge J Grieves, Oakdene, it sold to Kirsty Cameron, Crowood Cottage.

Joint reserve honours were presented to a 379kg Limousin bullock from T Laird and Son, Carbello/Sunnyside and a 410kg Shorthorn bullock from T and R Harper, Southmains. They sold for £2400 and £2150 to Messrs Wyllie, Ladyyard and Messrs Taylor, Heatheryhall, respectively.

Outwith the champions, the sale of 1565 cattle saw bullocks average 454.3p with heifers at 448p.
