Jerseys led the trade at a spring coloured breeds sale at Skipton, where the inter-breed champion and her daughter both sold for £3700 each.

Leading the way was Aireview Matt Ruby 2 VG85, a third-calved Jersey from Becky Stapleton’s Aireview dispersal, which calved a month ago and is giving 40kg a day. Bred from seven generations of VG or Ex cows, she sold to the Furness family near Buxton, Derbyshire who also bought her Victorious daughter, which sold sexed to Big Red, at the same money.

Another in-calf heifer from the dispersal made £3050. Aireview Victorious Cash by Victorious sold due in July, to the Redmayne family, Lancashire.

Other top Jersey prices saw £2600 paid for Becksidejerseys Zodi Jennifer, a young dry cow from the Corners’ Beckside herd at Northallerton, while Becksidejerseys Ferdinand Mimosa 3, another dry cow made £1800.

Youngstock peaked at £1020 for Richard Pratt’s Salcrest Breckon Del Ivory which was sold in aid of Cancer Research UK. The July 2025-born calf was bought by Henry Hitchen of Luddenfoot.

Ed Sugden, Honeygirls Jerseys, Cleckheaton, sold Honeygirls Chili Snowbird for £880. The six-month-old backed by two Ex-scored dams, sold to the Padkin family, Dumfriesshire.

Holsteins sold to £2800 for the reserve champion, a fresh heifer from Mark Smith, Winterburn, who also produced the breed champion that made £2400.
