Demand for Limousin genetics was strong at a society regional show and sale at Ballymena Livestock Mart, where bulls sold to 14,000gns.
Topping the trade was the reserve champion Eniver VIP from Michael McKeefry, Garvagh. Sired by the 2018 Carlisle champion Ampertaine Majestic and out of Eniver Olay, by Ampertaine Elgin, the 17-month-old carries double F94L and sold to John Gallagher’s Mulnafye herd, Mountfield, Omagh.
At 9000gns was Ballyrobin Verstappen from Joan Gilliland and Kim Montgomery, Antrim, which sold to A Dobbs, Carrickfergus. The 20-month-old by Glenrock Redemption carries double F94L.
The same partnership’s reserve senior, the13-month-old Ballyrobin Vance, by Ampertaine Jackpot, made 8000gns to TG Stevenson, Lurgan.
Raymond Savage, Drumahoe, took 7000gns for Aghadolgan Ace, a 16-month-old Glenrock Redemption son with double F94L, selling to Andrew McKnight, Antrim.
Two bulls came under the hammer for 6800gns with the first being Rahoney Vectra from Howard McFarland, Trillick. Sired by the 35,000gns Ampertaine Majestic, it sold to Neill Cole, Killyleagh.
Aghadolgan Awesome, by Knock Msport, from Raymond Savage, made the same money selling to Wilson Murphy, Waringstown.
Females peaked at 11,000gns for the reserve, Rathkeeland Veronica, from Herbie and Stephen Crawford, Maguiresbridge. Caitlin Kernan purchased the two-year-old heifer for her Armagh-based herd. She is sired by the 22,000gns Gunnerfleet Lion and out of Rathkeeland Premier, a Haltcliffe Nijinsky daughter that was inter-breed beef cow at Antrim Show in 2024. She sold in calf to Glenrock Redemption.
