A major reduction of David Harker’s Overthwaite pedigree Limousin herd from Carnforth, reached a top of 6000gns, when sold alongside a consignment from Brian Baker’s Wealden enterprise at Carlisle.

Topping the sale was the three-year-old, Overthwaite Roxanne, which sold with her April-born heifer calf, Overthwaite Underestimate, by Raysonhall Sultan. Roxanne is a daughter of Haltcliffe Gentry and bred from Overthwaite Fatty. She sold served to Hartsideanew Shearer and was knocked down to Messrs Thompson, Melmerby, Penrith.

The two-year-old heifer, Overthwaite Serena by the same sire, but out of Overthwaite Hilary, then made 5000gns selling to Craig Ridley, buying for the Haltcliffe herd from Hesket Newmarket, Wigtony.

Just behind, on 4200gns, Overthwaite Molly sold to Messrs Airey, Otterburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne. This seven-year-old cow by Gunnerfleet Impressive, out of Overthwaite Hizarre, sold in calf to Hartsideanew Sheare and with her November-born bull calf, Overthwaite Thunder, at foot.

Minutes later, Overthwaite Maddie, another cow and calf outfit made 4000gns when leaving the ring with Messrs Thompson and Partners, Waskerley, Consett, Co Durham. She is also by Impressive, in calf to Brontemoor Mess and sold with her April-born bull calf, Overthwaite Ultimate at foot

Top price for the Wealden herd was 2600gns for the May 2022-born heifer, Wealden Tisha, a daughter of Wealden Prosper, out of Wealden Letitia, purchased by Messrs Gent, Irvine, Ayrshire.
