C&D Auction Marts saw spring lambs top at £160 for a Zwartble from Messrs Rae, Wallacetown. Hoggs averaged 365.68p and peaked at 424p for Texels from Millantae, while ewes sold to a top of £250 from Messrs Goldie, Skipmyre for a Texel cross.
Cast beef cows met an average of 278.2p, peaking at 365p from Messrs Mair, Meikleholm and to £2592 from Messrs Currie, Skewbridge. Dairy cows averaged 220.5p and reached a high of 298p from Messrs Currie, Barndennoch and to £2205 from J Lochhead, Beyond the Burn.
Prime Cattle sold to 440p for a Limousin from Messrs Jardine, Yett and to £2592 for an Aberdeen Angus from Skewbridge.
DINGWALL
Dingwall and Highland Marts 383 old season lambs averaged 376.7p and sold to 433p for 45kg Beltex cross from Conon Mains, Conon Bridge and £218 for a 56kg Beltex cross from Rattray Estate.
Feeding Sheep (168) sold to £405 for a Texel ewe from Wester Raddery, Fortrose, while a Cheviot ram topped at £238 from Rearquhar.
On Wednesday, bullocks (8) averaged 379.3p and sold to 406.0p for a 665kg Limousin Cross from Bridgend, Dingwall and £2794.60 for a 785kg Charolais Cross from Bog of Auchterflow, Munlochy. Heifers (9) averaged 388.2p and sold to 414.0p or £2691.00 for a 650kg Limousin Cross from Easter Strath, Killen.
WOOLER
Harrison and Hetherington sold Texel hoggs to a peak of £210 from Messrs Harvey, Blackadder Mains and to 428.6p for more of the same from Messrs Redpath, Berryhill. The cast ring was also dominated by Texels – ewes reached £320 from Messrs Harvey, while tups from Messrs Frater, Goswick, peaked at £230
PENRITH
Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart sold 6152 prime sheep, comprising two spring lambs, 2861 hoggs, 3260 cast ewes and rams and 533 light lambs. Topping the sale at 537p and £247 was a pen of hoggs from the Hall Family, Inglewood Edge, weighing 46kg.
Cast ewes peaked at £400, secured by D Coulter, Ballymena Road, Northern Ireland, for single pure-bred Texels. Cast tups from the same home peaked at £360 for a Charollais.
COCKERMOUTH
Mitchell’s Auctions sold an Aberdeen Angus cow for £2411.54 from S, and J Sherwen, Hawkbarrow and to 309.5p for a dairy-bred British Blue cow from BW Noble, Gibbtarn.
Prime bulls topped at 321.5p or £2015.81 for a dairy-bred British Blue from G and I Carruthers and Son, Lowca Cottage.
Hoggs reached £243 for a pair of Texels from T Dixon, High House, Egremont and to 458.5p for Texels from JG and PH Thompson, Poppy Farm. Cast ewes achieved an average £112.95, topping at £252 for Texel crosses from Messrs Cartmel, High Low Hall, with Texel rams selling to £232 from Wha House Farm.
LONGTOWN
C&D Auction Marts had forward 5151 sheep comprising 14 lambs, 3064 hoggs and 2067 cast ewes and rams on Thursday. A small selection of lambs topped at £230 for a pair of Suffolks and a pair of Charollais lambs from Beckfoot Farms, who also sold the top per kilo at 442.3p.
Hoggs topped twice at £224 – again from Beckfoot for a Texel – and for a pen of Beltex from Messrs Whiteford, Tercrosset, while Beltex from Messrs Kennedy, Lurgan sold for 552.6p. Cast ewes topped at £350 for a pair of Texel ewes from Bradley Farmer, Wester Parkgate, with rams reaching £300 for a Texel from Beckfoot.
A small entry of cows sold to a top of 232p from Messrs Copeland, Nether Collinhurst.
STIRLING (UA)
United Auctions sold new season Suffolk lambs off Langside to £220.00 and to 513p for Charollais from the same home. Old season lambs reached £238 for Beltex from Cuiltburn and 522p for more of the same from Easter Ochtermuthill. Texel ewes from Carriston peaked at £300.00, which was also the top price for a Bluefaced Leicester ram.

Heifers (50) averaged 358p and sold to 417p for a 560kg British Blue cross from Home Farm, Longhaven and £2745.90 for an 810kg Charolais Cross from Deskie Farm, Glenlivet. Young Bulls (13) averaged 341.6p and peaked at 369p for an 805kg Limousin from Shannas, Clola and £3075.80.
Beef Finished Cows (95) averaged £2576.21 and sold to £3170 for a 944kg Charolais from Bankhead, Clatt. Darlington Farmers Auction sold bulls to an average of 360p or £2524, topping at 428p for a 686kg Limousin from WI Suddes and Son, South Farm and £3637 for a 907kg Limousin from J Layfgield. Native bulls topped at 351p for an Aberdeen Angus from R Hall and Son, Kilton Hall and to £2847 for a Beef Shorthorn from WA Fettes, Braes of Enzie, Aberdeenshire. In the pure dairy breeds, a Montbéliard from CH and SE Armstrong, Middle Moor peaked at 344p and £2321.
Heifers levelled at 396p and £2428, topping at 490p for a 532kg Limousin from W Miller, High Aketon, Wigton. Steers levelled at 376p and £2645, while topping at 420p for a 681kg Limousin from the Askwiths of Low Mown Meadows, and to £3301 for a 786kg Limousin from Square House.
Some 1229 hoggs resulted in an average sale price of 380p and £182.36, topping at £254 or 488p for a pair of 52kg Beltex from TN Callender, Ox Eye, Whinney Hill. Ewes levelled at £169.26, peaking at £264 for a Texel from T Lawson and Son, Sands Farm.
On Monday, cast cattle peaked at 390p or £4340 for a three-year-old British Blue, from Bridge House, which tipped the scales at 1113kg. Beef cows from F and R Simpson, Square House, reached 368p and £3146 for a nine-year-old British Blue. Aberdeen Angus led the native breeds when A and AG Moralee, Lowfield, sold an OTM heifer to 344p. Friesians were led by a six-year-old from G Thompson and Sons, Softley, when she reached 248p and £2003.
ST BOSWELLS
Harrison and Hetherington sold 48 bullocks to average 370p and to a top of 412p for a Limousin from Learielaw or £3237 for another Limousin, this time from 12 Gray, Low Hall. Heifers (49) levelled at 383p and sold to 440p for a Limousin from Bee Edge and £2863 for a Simmental from Holydean.
Young bulls averaged 360p and sold to 368p, again for a Limousin from Elwick and to £3129 for a Charolais from Wester Middleton.
Cows levelled at 305p and sold to 367p or £3112 for a Limousin from West Meikle Pinkerton. A Limousin topped the cast bull trade at £2507 or 315p from Fowberry.
Hoggs averaged 392.4p (-6p) or £187, selling to £238 for Texels from Sunnycroft and to 454p for more of the same from Boghall.
A cast Texel ewe from Messrs Runciman, Huntington, sold for a record price of £400. There was also a record average of £191.26 for 330 head forward.
LANARK
Lawrie and Symington had forward 90 cattle comprising 51 bullocks and heifers and 39 cast cows. Limousin heifers sold for £2781 or 450p from Walkerdyke, Strathaven.
Limousin bullocks reached £2712 or to 410p from Faskine. Dairy bullocks and heifers topped at £2206 from Millhill and to 390p from Westtown. Young bulls peaked at £2491 or 360p from Harvieston, Gorebridge. Beef cows sold to a top of £2770 from Mid Shawtonhill, Strathaven or to 330p from Traprain, Haddington.
Dairy cows reached £1810 or 277p from Auchmeddan, Lesmahagow, while cast bulls from Watermeetings sold to £2100 or 217p.
The company also sold five lambs, 2436 hoggs and 979 cast ewes. Spring lambs peaked at £200 twice per head for Suffolks from Messrs Watson, Westtown and to 455p from the same home.
Hoggs saw a high of £238 or 553p for Beltex from Messrs Anderson, Oldwalls. Cast ewes peaked at £355 for Texels from Messrs Campbell, Strawfrank and £290 for a Texel tup from Longford.
CARLISLE
Harrison and Hetherington sold bulls to a top of £4342.48 for 1054kg Limousin from Messrs Henshall, Sarkshields, Lockerbie and to 434p for a 899kg Limousin from Messrs Scott, Daltonhook, Lockerbie. Dairy bred bulls peaked at £2216.50 for a 775kg Friesian from Messrs Grainger, Kiln Close, Wigton and 310p for a 642kg Holstein Friesian from Claremont Properties, Penrith.
Messrs Story, Newbiggin, Carlisle lifted £3231.10 or 395p for an 818kg British Blue cross steer. Heifers sold to £3091.86 for an 801kg Limousin cross for the same home and to 392p for a 680kg Limousin cross from Messrs Studholme, Nealhouse, Carlisle.
In the cast cow ring, Messrs Okell, Birdswood, sold a 890kg British Blue cow for 349.5p, while Messrs Goldie, South Bowerhouses, sold the top-priced Charolais cow at £3318. Bulls sold to £3527 for a 1104kg British Blue from Harwood on Teviot and to 335.5p for an 898kg Limousin from Grange Hall.
Sheep peaked at £285 for a pair of Texel ewes from Messrs Hewson, Carlisle. Hoggs hit a high of £232 for 49kg Beltex from Messrs Hewson, Burgh Head and to 531p for Dutch Texels from Grassgarth.

Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1631 sheep comprising 218 cast ewes, six spring lambs and 1407 hoggs. Spring lambs peaked at £205 for a pen of Suffolks from Messrs Goldie, Harpercroft. Hoggs averaged 395p, topping at £222 for a pair of Texels from Messrs Robertson, Creochhill and to 491p for the Kennedy Team at Lyonston Farm for a pen of Beltex.
Cast rams reached £282 for a Texel from Quinten Limond, Barskelly. Texels from J Meikle, Helentongate, led the ewes at £270.
On Tuesday, Craig Wilson sold cattle 428p for a Limousin bullock from Pat Wilson, Carskerdo, Cupar, while heifers peaked at 418p twice from The Andrew Family at Rowanston. A Limousin topped the cast bulls at £2800 from Barrodger, while the same breed topped the cows at £2300 from Auchentibbert.

United Auctions saw old season lambs (1426) average 371p, topping at 427p for a 44.5kg Beltex from The Knowes, Deskford, and at £222 for a 76kg Texel from Berryleys, Grange. Ewes averaged £155.79, topping at £310 for a Texel from Berryleys, Grange.
OTMS peaked at 297.1p for a Limousin from Newton of Tulloch, St Katherines and to £2700 for a Simmental from Newtonbrae, Newmill.

Wallets Marts sold 525 hoggs to an average of 387.95p, peaking at £216 and 446.1p for Texels from Messrs Craig, Compstonend. Sheep sold to £325 for Texels from Messrs Kerr, Denty.

McCartney’s sold hoggs to an average of 428.33p across the board and topped at £258 for a Beltex, weighing 44kg for RN Scott, West Micklethwaite, and to 607.5p with a pen of Beltex Hoggs, weighing 40kg from the same home. Spring lamb from Adam Bell, Thethwaite, sold to 555.6p and £250 for a pair of Suffolk Lambs, weighing 45kg.

Hexham and Northern Marts saw clean heifers from T Pearson and Son, High Plaskett Lands, sell to a high of 397.5p and £2544 for a Limousin cross. The sole steer entry, a Luing cross from A Hall Young bulls sold to a high of 355.5p for a Simmental from C Parker and Son, Newsham Grange, Darlington and to £2509.85 for Charolais cross bulls from GH Farms Ltd, Grange Hill.
Cast cows peaked at 345.5p for a Limousin from RR Reay and Sons, West Moorhouses, sold to £3082.10 for a British Blue cross from the same home. A Limousin bull from Spittal Shield stopped at £2283.30 or 266.5p.
Hoggs topped the sale at £243 for a Beltex cross from JJ and JM Sanders, Bavington Hill Head and to 505p for a pair of Beltex crosses from the same home.
