Huntly tops store trade with bullocks to 626p per kg

Aberdeen and Northern Marts had 311 head of adult breeding cattle forward for their annual show and sale of heifers with calves at foot, where the champion outfit, a Limousin cross heifer with bull calf from A Prentice, The Bungalow, New New, topped the trade at £5700.

Bulling heifers peaked at £3250 for 19-month-old Simmentals from Messrs Manson, Brodieshill, Alves whilst cows and calves sold to £2950 for an Aberdeen Angus with a bull calf from Mayen Estate, Rothiemay.

Store cattle sold to 547.5p for Simmental cross heifers from Oldwhat Mains, New Deer or £2540 from Drumeachie, Birse.
