A Beef Shorthorn heifer from the Cherryvalley herd has set a new Northern Irish female record after selling for £17,200 at an online herd production sale.

The sale from Northern Ireland breeder Dr Peter Fitzgerald was topped by the April 2024-born heifer, Cherryvalley Valuable, a daughter of Creaga Rolex out of the Creaga Logic-sired Cherryvalley Petra. Living up to her name, she sold to Yvonne Hopkins, Splotts, Somerset.

Fiona also paid £3600 for Cherryvalley VIP, a similarly aged heifer by the same sire and out of Cherryvalley Poppy.

Selling at £4500 to Irish breeder Des Robinson, Co Armagh, was Cherryvalley Valentine. This two-year-old is sired by Meonside Randango and out of Glenisla Desiree.
