CATTLE met a brisk demand at C and D Auction Marts’ sale of 360 store cattle, which included the annual Spring Show judged by David Bell, Hoddomtown. 

His champion pen of four came in the shape of Limousin bullocks from Lantonside which later sold for £1050, while the champion single was another Limmy bullock, this time from Newfield, which realised £1035. 

Overall, trade peaked at £1165 for Aberdeen-Angus bullocks from Netherfield and 258.5p per kg for British Blue bullocks from Cocklicks. Bullocks sold to average 217.4p. 

Heifers reached £1085 for Charolais from Netherfield and 247.5p for Limousins from Sunnyhill, to average 207.4p.
