Heifers (412) averaged 200.58p selling to 241.60p for a 298kg Limousin cross from Berryhill, and £1180 for a 548kg Aberdeen-Angus cross from Dunglass Home Farm.

The 27 young bulls sold to 207p per kg and £1000 for a Limousin cross from Crosshouse.

Top price was £1330 paid for Limousin bullocks off Connellston or 251.5p for Limousin bullocks off Barskelly.

Heifers peaked at £1250 for a Charolais from Caprickhill or 226.2p for Limousins from North Waterland.

A pen from Bourtreebush, led the dairy bullocks per head at £485 with 10 from Stevenston making 157.8p per kg.

A larger show of 639 store hoggs saw all types £5-£6 dearer than the previous sale, with the sale averaging £63.48 from a top of £81 paid for Texels consigned by Messrs Jamieson, Hartfield Farm.

On Tuesday, the firm sold 10 dairy cattle and 97 calves and stirks. A good show of dairy cattle peaked at £1900 for a Holstein Friesian heifer from J Bryson and Son, Dykehead, to average £1610, while the 97 calves and stirks sold to £510 for a British Blue cross bull from A and C Robertson, East St Colmac, Rothesay.

Store hoggs sold to £98 and £93 for Beltex from Keskadale Hill, with the 145 feeding ewes peaking at £83 for Suffolks from Felton Demesne, with hill ewes to £57 for Blackfaces from Ramshope. Cast rams sold to £80 for Texels from Craigruie.
