The final on-farm dispersal of the Stewart family’s Sandyknowe Suffolk flock from Brotherston, Melrose, saw an overall average of £559.63 for 130 sold and a top price of 1800gns paid twice for gimmers.
Bainbridge Farms, Donkin Rigg, Cambo, Morpeth, bought the first with the second heading home with AC Austin, Woodcroft, New Abbey, Dumfries.
Aberdeenshire breeders, Ross and Kirsten Williams, Ranna, Tarland, Aboyme, went to 1600gns for another home-bred gimmer.
At 1500gns, another gimmer sold to DG Wise, Fawdington House, Helperby, York.
