Due the wet winter the Fife Hunt have cancelled their annual point-to-point which was scheduled for April 27 at Balcormo Mains.
"It is with profound regret that the Fife Point to Point is unable to go ahead. This comes as a result of the 'Biblically' desperate winter and the very wet conditions arising therefrom which makes the ground impossible to race on," said a hunt spokesperson. "There was a possible suggestion to relocate the fixture to another venue but this has not been feasible. However remedial work on the course at Balcormo is taking place in order to ensure that the point-to-point will go ahead in 2014 with good ground and competitive racing.
"This is obviously a huge disappointment to many, as Balcormo races has always been an important date in the year for many but the point-to-point committee has every confidence that the Fife point-to-point will go ahead in 2014," they added.
