Fife’s innovative food hub and monthly local farmers market, Bowhouse, is embracing the harvest season as it announces dates for its autumn Market Weekends, taking place on the second weekend in October and November.

Free-to-attend, Market Weekends are run at the unique venue in the East Neuk of Fife. Each market features carefully selected stalls from Scotland’s best food and drinks producers, a lively street food quarter with an ever-changing roster of delicious food and drink to go, alongside live music from local musicians.

The autumn Market Weekend dates are the following Saturdays and Sundays: October 12-13, 10am-4pm; November 9-10, 10am-4pm

After its successful apple themed market last year, Bowhouse’s October Market Weekend will focus on orchard fruits, with demonstrations on making the most of autumn’s crop by pressing them for juice. And Bowhouse producer Keeping the Plot will be leading workshops in designing your own autumnal wreath, alongside a seasonal selection of food and drink and street food stalls.

Closing autumn’s events and looking ahead to the colder months, the November Market Weekend will celebrate the increasing popularity of game meat. As well as a wide selection of food and drink stalls, Fife Food Ambassador Christopher Trotter will lead live cooking demonstrations on how to prepare and cook different game meats. November will also see the return of the popular craft market, with stalls carefully curated by TeaGreen Events for those early Christmas shoppers.

Based on the Balcaskie Estate in the East Neuk of Fife, Bowhouse opened as a makers hub for local food and drink producers in summer 2017, working to provide the missing link between farm and fork for producer and consumer. The number of producers has continuously grown and now nine independent food businesses are permanently based at the venue. Its Market Weekends continue to attract thousands of visitors through the doors each month.
