“I love what I do!” Fiona admitted. “Weddings are such happy occasions – everyone comes in smiling, excited about the day ahead.”
Starting during the 2009 recession, Fiona transformed a Falkirk boutique into Frox of Falkirk, relaunching with her own carefully curated stock.
17 years later, she carries over 3000 garments across a wide range of designers, including Couture Club, Gabriela Sanchez, Fely Campo, Irresistible, Carla Ruiz, Gill Harvey and more. Prices range from £300 to £3000, and for those wanting something unique, Fiona can create exclusive pieces that combine elements from multiple designs. Specialising in fuller figure outfits, Frox of Falkirk stock sizes 6 to 36 in store, and bespoke outfits can also be made in bigger sizes to accommodate the customers needs.
Customer service is at the heart of the business. “You often see customers who are timid at first, and then as they find the right dress, they light up. By the end, they’re ecstatic – it’s such a joyful moment.”
Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins are welcome, with visits typically lasting around 90 minutes. Fiona and her consultants guide clients through colours, shapes and styles that complement their figures. “We recommend bringing two additional people – more than that can sometimes become overwhelming,” she said.
Frox of Falkirk caters to all weddings, from traditional church ceremonies to barns, marquees and outdoor farm celebrations.
Fiona draws on her rural background – brought up on a smallholding at Cumbernauld, with her grandfather running a farm and her father in wholesale and retail milk – giving her a keen understanding of the needs of clients from farming communities.
Alongside outfits, the shop stocks shoes, headpieces and accessories, providing a complete one-stop-shop experience. Alterations are handled by a trusted freelance seamstress.
Looking ahead, Fiona is happy to maintain her current location.
“Having moved to bigger premises on three occasions, I just want to continue providing excellent service and helping our customers look and feel their best.”
