New Holland will have a range of its latest tractors plus its new topsoil mapper, cultivators and ploughs at Tillage Live.

The Topsoil Mapper will be seen for the first time in the UK at the event and it will be available through New Holland dealerships from 2019.

This new precision land management (PLM) technology is a new development in soil analysis, enabling better control of compaction, according to need. A front-mounted sensor maps the soil profile ahead of the tractor, up to a metre below the surface, giving the operator real time information.

This allows adjustment of implement depth on-the-go, reducing implement wear, fuel consumption and increasing work rate as compared to conventional tillage at a single depth. It also gives the operator more control and information about soil at their fingertips.

New Holland said that the system is more than just a tillage tool. Isobus compatible, it can also be used for variable seed rates when drilling, allowing the current soil conditions to be optimised with seed rate matched to soil moisture content.

On tractors, New Holland will be showcasing its new T6 Dynamic Command multi-purpose tractor with its

eight-step semi-powershift transmission on stand at Tillage Live. Available on the T6 all-purpose tractor series from 115-117 hp, Dynamic Command sets a new certified benchmark in efficiency, according the NH. It adds choice to the Basildon-built T6 range, complementing the Electro Command and Auto Command models.

Other tractors at Tillage will include the T7.225 and T7.270 Auto Command as well as a T7.315 Heavy Duty.

These will be working with New Holland branded ploughs and cultivators which follows the acquisition of the agricultural grass and soil business of Kongskilde and ploughs and cultivators from its new tillage range will be at Tillage.

The PHH5 fully mounted plough from its heavy duty range will be demonstrated at the event. Available in a range of sizes, from three, four, five and six furrows, these are fitted with shearbolt protection as standard, but for those who work in stony ground, a hydraulic stone protection option is also available.

Also in the field will be the STC300RS stubble cultivator from the five-model ST C range. Engineered to work in a wide range of crop residues and soil types with C-shaped tines, this range is available in working widths of three to seven metres and can be specified in rigid, hydraulic folding or hydraulic trailed variants with standard shearbolt or optional auto-reset.

The STXV500T trailed stubble cultivator from the STX V extra heavy duty range will also be demonstrated. Designed for use in the toughest soil conditions the vibrating tines effectively mix crop residue, boosting breakdown in the soil. The range is available in working widths of three to seven metres and in rigid, hydraulic and hydraulic trailed versions.

For seedbed preparation, the entry-level SBL V530 trailed cultivator be on display for the first time. Available in rigid and hydraulic folding options in working widths from 2.5-6.7m, with either S or SQ tines to suit soil requirements.
