AN INNOVATIVE new boom guidance system plus extra comfort features are the key changes to Amazone's new self-propelled sprayer, the Pantera 4503.

At its heart is the proven six-cylinder Deutz engine with a power output of 218hp, which is regulated by the intelligent ECO mode engine management control to minimise fuel use when working, but has a 'power' button for when you need it.

It hits exhaust emissions Stage 5 using exhaust gas recirculation, plus a diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particle filter.

The optional ContourControl boom control, with its active SwingStop pendulum limitation, caters for boom widths up to 40m. In addition, the Super-L2 and the new Super-L3 booms – in conjunction with the ContourControl boom control – include the new Flex-fold system, which makes the folding procedure 40 % quicker.

ContourControl allows the boom tips to angle below the horizontal to maintain the distance to the target surface by controlling vertical boom movement, with the SwingStop feature optimising the horizontal movement. Both are said to be instant-reacters and allows higher operational speeds during application.

The use of Comfort-Pack 1 on the new Pantera, with the TwinTerminal 3.0 system for the operator as standard includes automatic fill stop for suction filling. An option makes this available on the bowser fill port too. Fill levels can be entered either in the cab via the ISOBUS terminal or down at the operator station.

Further changes include new dust-proof storage compartments under the cab access ladder and new LED rear lights.
