A Highland supplier of farm machinery has unveiled a new range of tractors perfectly suited to the rigours of farming in the north of Scotland.

Dingwall-based McLaren Tractors has added the McCormick range to its offering, strengthening its position as a supplier of high-quality vehicles and machinery to the rural community in the Highlands and Islands.

George McLaren, its owner, said: “McCormick has a reputation for producing quality, long-lasting machinery suitable for the demands of Highland farm life. We are excited to be bringing such a highly regarded brand to McLaren Tractors.

“Some of our existing customers have already placed orders for new McCormick tractors and we anticipate demand will continue to grow. The new machines will complement our existing catalogue and strengthen our offering for our clients across the Highlands and Islands.”

The McCormick tractor range is versatile and has farming machines from 35-310hp, but its wide variety of tractors in the 70-140hp bracket – all of which feature state-of-the-art transmissions designed in-house – are perfectly suited to livestock farming, making them ideal for farmers and crofters in the Highlands and Islands, added Mr McLaren.

Key features including a braked front axle, low centre of gravity and low overall height, making them ideal loader tractors. This, combined with an excellent power-to-weight ratio, helps to reduce ground compaction, an issue faced in rural communities across the country.

McLaren Tractors was established in 2003 and is recognised as the Highlands’ premier supplier of machinery to farms, crofts and sporting estates – with a range including tractors, all-terrain vehicles, livestock machinery and scrub cutters.

Its product range also includes Polaris ATVs, Marshall Trailers, MTL Machinery, Pottinger, McHale, W Perfect and Foster machines.
