Spread-a-Bale is expanding its M range of straw spreading machines with the introduction of the Micro Lite 2VR, set to launch at AgriScot.
Developed for livestock producers operating 1t to 2t lift capacity machines, including front-end tractors, skid-steers and compact loaders (Hoftracs), the compact Micro Lite 2VR features a 595kg lightweight steel chassis and bracketing system paired with a head incorporating two vertical rotors that discharge straw up to nine metres in an arc pattern. An optional lightweight side mounting kit is also available.
The Micro Lite 2VR is fully self-loading from the stack and can spread one round or half a rectangular bale in under a minute. It requires just one tractor or materials handler, an oil flow of 55 litres per minute and no electrical connection.

A Spread-a-Bale spokesperson said: “Feedback from both livestock farmers seeking to mechanise their straw spreading operations as well as our dealerships, led Spread-a-Bale to design the Micro Lite 2VR, a machine that’s both lightweight and compact featuring the M range’s original head with two vertical rotors.
“The Micro Lite 2VR will appeal to smaller scale farmers with 1t lift capacity machines, particularly those housing livestock in more traditional buildings with limited access and manoeuvrability. They’ll find they are not only able to save straw, save time and save fuel but also carry out the operation with minimal dust.”
The Micro Lite 2VR incorporates the same proven mechanical components used across Spread-a-Bale’s heavier M range models and is available through the company’s dealer network.
