Hi-Spec Engineering is offering new options for its range of tandem and tridem axle Kompactor trailers and slurry tankers, including a FAD SIDRA hydraulic axle system and an electric steering alternative to conventional forced hydraulics.
The hydraulic suspension system, available on machines such as the Hi-Spec 5000 Tri-SR tanker, allows each wheel to act independently. This delivers a smoother ride over rough ground, enables self-stabilisation on slopes and reduces the risk of roll-over.
Operators can also adjust chassis height for transport or when empty, helping to minimise tyre wear. Weight is more evenly distributed across axles, improving braking performance and reducing soil compaction.

The electric steering option, compatible with all tandem and tridem machines, mirrors the benefits of traditional hydraulics but adds simplicity, neatness and the ability to crab steer.
Sensors on each axle, together with a gyroscope, detect orientation changes, while ISOBUS cab control allows the operator to switch between automatic and manual steering. Axles lock above operator-set speeds for road safety, and crab steer mode reduces soil compaction in the field.
Both systems are designed to enhance productivity, safety, and efficiency for contractors and farmers alike.
