THIS WAS the traumatic sight that greeted James McKerrow when he checked on the ewes grazing away from home in the Windygates area in Fife.
The ewe was attacked either late hours of Saturday the 24th or early hours of Sunday the 25th of February. Out of 112 ewes in the field she was the only ewe attacked, which makes James think the dog owner was there and got it out of the field before it attacked anymore.
When found she was still alive and grouped together with the rest of the ewes, but the severity of the damage done to her face gave their vet no option but to put her down. She was one of the McKerrow's pedigree Texel ewes and was carrying twins to their 30,000gns joint owned stock tup Knock Yankee.
