GROWERS GARDEN, a collective of farmers from the East of Scotland, has had a visit from agricultural celebrity Adam Henson.

Mr Henson's visit came as part of his role as Bank of Scotland Farming Ambassador, supporting 'ethical practice and innovation' in Scottish agriculture.

The bank views Growers Garden as a prime example of this. In a bid to reduce food waste, the collective has used their under and oversized broccoli, affectionately referred to as ‘wonky veg’, to create a delicious and sustainable range of sustainable broccoli crisps.

Managing director Andrew Faichney introduced the business's background in farmer co-operative East of Scotland Growers, before commercial director Suzanne George introduced Growers Garden itself. The visit then moved on to GG’s brand-new factory, in Cupar. Purpose-built to be the first of its kind in the UK, the facility has allowed the new brand to use fresh vegetables as its primary ingredient and 'bring true innovation to the healthy snack market'.

Mr Faichney said: “We were delighted to have Adam Henson with us for the day. It is such an exciting time for Growers Garden right now and a visit from someone so well respected in agriculture, as well as being the Farming Ambassador for Bank of Scotland, has only added to the buzz on the farms. Having just launched our Broccoli Crisps, it is wonderful to have Bank of Scotland take notice of the effort of our farmers to reduce food waste and promote sustainability with our innovative snack."
