CATTLE PRODUCERS in the UK and Ireland have been reminded that submissions to the fourth national Bovine Viral Diarrhoea survey must be made by January 31.
BVD eradication should be high on the agenda for all cattle producers, as the disease affects many areas of herd health and performance – and producers who have taken the time and trouble to tackle it report better performing and more profitable herds.
Following the success of last year's survey, the research team at vet medicines firm Boehringer Ingelheim is once again wanting information on how farmers are managing and controlling BVD in their herds, describing the exercise as a 'nationally important' study, as farmer responses will provide key information to policymakers, government and national organisations .
A paper copy of the national BVD survey is included in The Scottish Farmer this week (January 12 edition) as a pull-out insert. If you’d rather complete the survey online, please visit www.bvdsurvey.co.uk
All entries received will be put in a draw from which 10 winners will receive a Lenovo Android tablet.
The closing date for completed surveys is January 31.
