SCOTTISH Government minister for rural affairs and the natural environment Mairi Gougeon signed up to become an independent supporter of RSABI at the Royal Highland Show. The £25 sign up fee will go to helping people in hardship within the farming community, delivering the equivalent of 2.5 hours of helpline support. Chief executive Nina Clancy commented: "We are delighted Mairi Gougeon recognises the important work of RSABI by signing up as an individual supporter. RSABI is an essential service to the agricultural industry and we hope in her position as minister she will encourage people to join up and follow in her footsteps." Scottish politicians joined her at the RSABI stand (from left) Gail Ross MSP, Nina Clancy, Mairi Gougeon MSP, Emma Harper MSP and RSABI chair Ewan Pate.
