National Rural Mental Health Forum convener Jim Hume
At the National Rural Mental Health Forum, we have 140 organisations on board tackling mental health and wellbeing across rural Scotland. It is everyone’s business.
We all have mental health, which has its ups and downs throughout the years, and that’s completely normal. It’s normal to get down and it’s important that when you are that you get support from your friends, family, work colleagues and communities.
In 2020 my resolution is to encourage more people to look at what they can do to provide an environment where everyone is happy to be open about their mental health and wellbeing, and be confident to approach their friends and ask if they really are okay.
It is okay not to be okay and just asking someone can change their life.
A Happy New Year to you, and I hope that 2020 is a healthy and happy one for you.
