EIGHT SAYFC thrillseekers are set to embark on the climb of their lives this summer, tackling Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
There will be five training weekends leading up to the main event on Sunday, July 26, and all the while they will be fundraising for four major charities; My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, Crohn’s & Colitis UK, RSABI and Scottish Association For Mental Health.
The young farmers will commence their ascent of the world's tallest free standing mountain from Kilimanjaro's saddle area, formed almost three quarters of a million years ago by lava spilling over and between lower volcanic cones.
The ‘Lemosho’ route which has been chosen to ascend from is a remotely beautiful starting point - capturing scenic plant and animal life in the Alpine zone.
Members taking on the challenge are from all three regions of SAYFC; North, West and East.
